Position Statements
Women's Health and Welfare
GKCWPC advocates adequate support for women's healthcare, including research,
education, screening and treatment. We support the right of women to control their
own reproduction without government intrusion. We support equitable public and
private health care insurance coverage for women, including family planning, birth
control and prenatal care.
GKCWPC supports public policies which provide for and protect women's safety. In
the areas of domestic violence and sexual assault, we support adequate funding of
service delivery as well as enforcement of strong legal penalties.
Women's Employment and Financial Security
GKCWPC supports financial access and equal employment opportunities for women,
equal pay for equal work and the right to work in an environment free of
gender-related barriers. We support equitable borrowing and lending practices and
parity in elective and appointive positions at all levels of government.

GKCWPC supports equal access to public educational opportunities for women. We
support the availability of quality public education for all children.
GKCWPC advocates legal remedies to child abuse as well as adequate funding of
"safety net" support for poverty-level parents and children.
